But first, let’s agree to keep it real.
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Ms. Tiffany, Head Imaginarian of Imagiread. I’m a mom, educator, cultural communications cons, project manager, and multidisciplinary artist. Once upon a time, 15.9 years ago, I thought I would do something wildly creative and write and self-publish a children’s book. The goal was to spend countless hours traveling the big bright city of Houston, reading to children in every language. Grateful for the opportunities, I showed up everywhere and read as often as possible. The kids loved the book and the readings; it felt incredible Imagireading to hundreds of families while educators, librarians, and community organizers looked on. Everything was going wonderfully until it wasn’t. I started to continuously witness something that rattled me to my core and knew something needed to be done.
Illiteracy, specifically functional illiteracy, was wreaking serious havoc on the children and families of the fourth-largest city in the United States. It wasn’t that I didn’t know or understand the implications of illiteracy and its correlation to quality of life prior, I just didn’t realize it was as bad as it was. I’d just moved to Houston and already was faced with that daunting realization but another one came crashing down- “The schools here might not have what my children need.” It was that very day that I decided to tackle illiteracy by going back to my roots in education. I had one goal back then; to reach 1 million children with quality culturally responsive literacy development programming and instruction.
Fast forward to today, where I’m proud to say that my team and I have reached over 7,000 Imagireaders and improved their critical multimodal literacy skills with programming that centers on The Whole Child. We’ve been awarded and recognized by Mayor Sylvester Turner, Mayor of The City of Houston, and our partnerships with The Houston Public Library, The Harris County Department of Education, and NASA/NIFTY over the years have solidified our intent to build a dynamic educational ecosystem that serves The Whole Community. We continue to be actively engaged in the mission to create educational experiences that are safe, inclusive, and innovative as we prepare our children for #thefutureofeducation and #thefutureofwork with partners like The Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance, The National Afterschool and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation and the Alliance. Those are the values we’ve always abided by, hence The Imagiread Difference.

What to expect when you’re expecting your child to succeed. A tried and true process for learning on purpose!
When your Imagireader joins us in The iReadE Academy, they will explore and discover through an X-S.T.R.E.A.M. Learning Adventure. With an emphasis on science, technology, Imagireading and writing, engineering, arts, and math; project-based learning activities and exercises propel imagination making innovation imminent. Each adventure begins with a spinning of the wheel; landing where they may. Imagireaders are then guided along their personal learning path strengthening skills in each area and improving their developmental strategy.
The Academy will grant enrollees certification in AI Literacy through a partnership with Google’s Gemini AI Platform. Certification will include training on the Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and is contingent upon the completion of an innovative capstone project.
Imagireaders are awarded digital badges for their personal learning journal as they improve their skills and complete adventures. Once they grab all of their badges they can convert them to REAL GIFTS. Value-created prizes that reward confidence, academic integrity, and completion.
For those with sensory needs, we ensure that the digital environment is consistent with the requirements of that child along their learning path. Assistive resources are available and determined throughout the administration of the Imagireader’s TRU iQ.
Now open for enrollment, the iReadE Academy welcomes students from all backgrounds who are eager to explore a new world of personal learning possibilities. Programming officially begins on September 16, 2024, kicking off the iReadE Academy NASA International Space Apps Bootcamp.
